Meet The Maker

BIO

When you get asked to write a bio about ourselves —  do you do it in first person or third? Heck if I know, so I am just going to tell you my story in fashion.  

When my kids were 4 and 8, I wanted to learn to sew them a few things. I begged my old home ec teacher to give me a few lessons.  I learned to make all kinds of things and even dabbled in pattern making - accidentally.

I loved creating but more importantly, the challenge of  engineering for a body kept me wanting more of an education.  David and I agreed it was time for me to go back to college to get my degree in fashion design.  After graduation, life was normal until the pandemic...life changed for all of us this. We decided to marry our businesses (sheep rancher + fashion designer) so we launched Halbert Heritage.

My passion for one of a kind clothes, upcycling, and wool clothing has lead me to do  what most creative people want to do.... share their art.

FUN FACTS

1. Although David Letterman is no longer on TV, it doesn’t keep Stacy from showing off her Stupid Human Trick....she can literally fit her entire fist in her mouth.

2. She can also wiggle her ears but not while her fist is in her mouth.

3. She loves Post Malone.

4. She went back to college at 35 to complete her degree in Fashion Design but wanted to be an astronaut.

5. She married her high school sweetheart and gladly puts up with his endless hours of watching golf on TV.

6. They have 2 children, neither of them looks like her and she is the better-looking parent, but they turned out okay, if you like that kind of thing.

7. She will go down a rabbit hole faster than Alice in Wonderland researching something that piques her interest.

8. She listens to books all day long and will go broke unless she wins the Texas Lottery tonight.

9. Her favorite sports teams are the Savannah Bananas and would do anything to see them live – absolutely anything.

10. Stacy is an avid recycler because she lives in BFE and does not have trash service.
